SigEp was founded at Sacramento State (aka CSU-Sacramento or just Sac State) in 1964 and has continually had an uninterrupted presence on campus for the last 60 years! In SigEp, we strive in every way to live up to our three Cardinal Principles: Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Our efforts to improve continuously are captured by the tagline #RaiseYourBar. We strive to be the premiere student organization on campus and a cornerstone for student life.
SigEp was founded in 1901 in Richmond, Virginia with the promise, “This fraternity will be different.” SigEp at Sac State presents the unique opportunity to bring that promise to life in a chapter formed around our shared values, academic achievement, community participation, and personal development. We create an unparalleled fraternity experience at Sac State and set a tone for what it will mean to be a SigEp on our campus and across the country.
Join Us While We:
- Continuously recruit values-based, highly talented undergraduate students.
- Host a series of more than 30 fun activities. (Hazing is 100% counter-productive to our goals, so we don't.)
- Engage in leadership training and personal development, along with discussions on SigEp’s philosophy of fraternity.
- Create a membership experience centered on continuing personal growth, developing the habits that last a lifetime and prepare us for life after college.
- Connect every interested member with a mentor and a career coach.
- Engage regularly with a mentor board consisting of chapter alumni, university staff, higher education professionals and friends of SigEp to aid our members in their development and ensure the chapter’s short and long-term success.
- Build healthy, lifelong relationships. The kind of men we spend time with have a profound impact on each of us.
- Continue our focus on academics. We're at Sac State for an education and we take grades seriously. We're proud of our 3.52 chapter GPA, but a SigEp always strives to #RaiseYourBar.
